Where Are They Now?: Mean Girls Movie

This is So Fetch! When you think of “Mean Girls” what comes to mind? The movie? Popular, “cool” kids? If you asked me I would of course say the movie because it’s one of my favorite movies! Today that’s what we are going to be talking about.

If you’ve ever watched Mean Girls, you just can’t possibly say that it’s bad. Personally, my review for the movie is 5/5 stars. Some reasons I think that is because all the main characters including Lindsey Lohan and Rachel McAdams are great actors. They are great fits for their roles.

Regina George (Rachel McAdams), Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried), and Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert) are the mean/popular girls in the school when a Cady Heron (Lindsey Lohan) moves to Evanston, Illinois from South Africa and is befriended by the popular girls and taken under there wing while also friends with Janis Ian (Lizzy Caplan) and Damien (Daniel Franseze). While Cady, Janis and Damien come up with a plan to trick the popular girls.

Now let’s see where the main characters are now! “2004 was a big year for McAdams. In addition to Mean Girls, she landed another iconic film role opposite Ryan Gosling in The Notebook. She also starred on the second season of HBO’s True Detective in 2015 and scored her first Oscar nomination in 2016 for Best Supporting Actress for Spotlight. McAdams welcomed her first child with boyfriend Jamie Linden in 2018. In August 2020, it was announced that they were expecting their second child together.”

Seyfried landed parts in high-profile films including the Mamma Mia! franchise, Jennifer’s Body, Dear John, Les Misérables and Ted 2. In 2013, she was nominated alongside the Les Misérables cast for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. She earned her first Oscar nomination in 2021 for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mank.

After Mean Girls, Chabert continued to have a steady career and has starred in more than 15 Hallmark movies, including My Secret Valentine and Christmas in Rome. She has also lent her voice to characters on Justice League Action, Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny and Transformers: Rescue Bots. Seems like a lot of work to be in more than 15 movies in such a short amount of time! Amazing!

Lohan, the former child star, however, became a tabloid magnet due to her partying, substance abuse issues, family drama and romantic relationships. She has since made a comeback with a short-lived MTV reality series, Lindsay Lohan Beach Club, and launched a new business venture called #BeYourOwnBoss in September 2020. The Parent Trap actress got engaged to businessman Bader Shammas in November 2021. The twosome said “I do” in July 2022.
